CrossvilleForums Guidelines
The use of the term service in these guidelines refers to any and all services provided by this website, including but not limited to the message board and chat board.
Please remember that we are not responsible for any messages posted via this service. We do not vouch for or warrant the accuracy, completeness or usefulness of any message, and are not responsible for the contents of any message.
The messages express the views of the author of the message, not necessarily the views of this service. Any user who feels that a posted message is objectionable is encouraged to contact us immediately by email. We have the ability to remove objectionable messages and we will make every effort to do so, within a reasonable time frame, if we determine that removal is necessary.
Having fun is good. We like fun. Please keep it positive and polite. We may take action against posts and/or topics that could cause unrest in the community beyond a civil and polite disagreement.
Remember to attack the post, not the poster.
Communicating on message boards is different from face-to-face communication. Only the words are seen, not your facial exp
ressions or tone of voice. Please pay careful attention to how you use your words.
Posts for the purpose of inflating post counts are discouraged.
Topics and posts started to discuss edited, closed or deleted topics and posts only keep problems going and therefore are a violation of CF guidelines.
You agree that you are solely responsible for the content of your posted messages. You also agree to indemnify and hold harmless the owners of Crossville Forums, any related websites to this forum, its staff, and its subsidiaries. When you post a message, upload a file, or otherwise provide Crossville Forums with material for display, you are granting Crossville Forums a royalty-free, perpetual, non-exclusive, unrestricted, worldwide license to use, copy, sublicense, adapt, transmit, publicly perform, publish or display all such material in any medium or venue of publication, printed, electronic, or a medium which may or may not exist at this time, without further compensation or attribution.
You acknowledge that anything you submit to on Crossville Forums is routed through various servers and the Internet and that, therefore, you have no expectation of privacy with regard to any submission. You acknowledge that posting and all features on Crossville Forums are postings for public and not private communications.
You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this service to post any material which is knowingly false and/or defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, or otherwise violative of any law.
You agree that you will not substitute characters, spaces, etc. into words in an attempt to subvert the word filter.
You agree that Personal Messages (PMs) are private, and that you will not post them to the board without the explicit consent of the owner/author.
You agree that any posts for the purpose of soliciting any product, service, contest, etc. will be posted solely to "The Trading Post" message board forum, unless explicitly authorized by a member of the Administrative Staff. This privilege is reserved for active Crossville Forums members with a minimum post count of 50. Joining Crossville Forums strictly to place an ad is considered spamming and posts will be removed.
You agree that your signature will not be used to violate service guidelines and will not be used for spamming or soliciting unless authorized by a member of the Administrative Staff.
Your entire signature, including text and images, should be no larger that
150 pixels in height. If you decide to use image(s) in your signature, please ensure the entire size of all images is no larger than
500 x 150. Non-compliance may result in your signature being removed and a warning issued against your account.
You agree not to post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or by this service.
You agree that all rules are subject to change without notice.
CF Guideline Violations:
1st Offense - Warning
2nd Offense - Warning and 3 day suspension
3rd Offense - Warning and 30 day suspension
Multiple 30 day suspensions may result in longer suspensions or permanent banning from CF. Warning levels and suspension levels may be skipped depending on the severity of the infraction.
If you receive a warning, you will be notified via PM. Warning levels decrease after one month.
There is no notification system to let the mods know that your month is up, so it is your responsibility to inform the mods. Warnings are a private matter and you only have the ability to see your own warning bar. Public discussion of other user's warnings is a violation of the CF Guidelines. If you wish to discuss your own warning, please contact a moderator via PM.
